First post pandemic meeting of Japan Club Zurich and Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Zurich

Today, we from the Zurich Japanese Association (JCZ), for the first time since the pandemic turned our world around, celebrated our annual Japanese New Year Party "Shinnenkai" at the beautiful Hilton hotel at the Airport Zurich. It was great to meet all those business and private friends, sharing memories, discussing ideas and making new contacts without masks, quarantaine or any virtual meeting hindering us from shaking hands. Finally we are back! 😁

We enjoyed the keynote of our president, the leadershhip and the Japanese Ambassador in Switzerland and listened to a beautiful classical concert while having a tasty lunch all together and celebrating the new year.

The JCZ association was established in 1961 to promote mutual understanding and friendship between Japan and Switzerland by Japanese people living in Zurich, the financial and economic center of Switzerland and the largest city in Switzerland. It is a well-established organization. The membership consists of people who have lived in Switzerland for a long time, people who are studying and researching at universities and research institutes, expatriates of Japanese companies, Japanese people working at Swiss companies, and people who are pursuing art and musicmaintain their business and private network always in relation to Japan and Switzerland. Furthermore, companies like Emil Frey AG, Takeda Pharmazeuticals, Kuoni Travel, Toyota, JAL Japan Airlines, ANA Arlines, Nippon Express and Kowa Pharmazeuticals and many more are benefiting from those kind of relationships and business exchange to strenghten their operations between the two countries and making Switzerland great place to work for Swiss and Japanese talents.

Japan and Switzerland have historically built an extremely friendly and good relationship. In 2014, we celebrated the 150th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Switzerland. On that occasion, His Majesty the Emperor (then Crown Prince) visited Switzerland as Honorary President which was a great honor for the Swiss leadership and all the connected institutions and organizations and of course the Swiss citizen.
